About Me

Deborah Guthrie, Founder and Consultant

I have led the government sector in strategic communications for over 25 years. Earning my degree in Communications from Michigan State University. I worked my way up from an intern at HOMTV to the Communications Director at Meridian Township. My team and I created the department from the ground up, implementing an internal and external communications and marketing strategy. This including leading the rebranding of the township including training and implementation.

During this time I won numerous national, regional, and local awards for government transparency and government programming. I also authored and implemented the Marketing and Promotion Strategy and Community Engagement Plan used by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as a gold standard for communities wishing to be Redevelopment Ready certified. 

I have excellent written and verbal communications skills representing the industry in national and state wide public speaking engagements, presentations, and local crisis, emergency, and PIO communications. With a proven track record, my consulting services will help your organization become a transparent, professional, and effective communicator.
