About Me
Deborah Guthrie, Founder and Consultant
I have led the government sector in strategic communications, planning and marketing for almost 30 years. Earning my degree in Communications from Michigan State University, I worked my way up from a non-paid intern at HOMTV to the Communications Director/PIO at Meridian Township. My team and I created the department from the ground up, implementing an internal and external communications plan, community engagement plan, and marketing strategy. During this time, I led the rebranding of the township to what is now known as A Prime Community.
I have won numerous national, regional, and local awards for storytelling and government programming starting with the first story I ever wrote on the construction of the Harris Nature Center building. My team and I also launched the Meridian Township website integrating a newsletter and social media accounts to drive traffic. I have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and conversational writing skills representing the industry in national and state wide public speaking engagements, and presentations. With a proven track record, my consulting services will help your organization tell your story, be more transparent, and effective.
